Obituary of Margery Blodgett
BLODGETT Margery Moss Age 94 of Bradenton, Fl and Penn Yan, NY (formerly of Horseheads, NY) passed away October 3, 2011 at the Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY. She was born in the Town of Chemung on October 24, 1916 the daughter of the late Sylvester H. and Mabel E. Andrews Moss. She was a graduate of Horseheads High School. Most of her life she was a home-maker and avid card player. "Margie" was known for her impeccably coordinated outfits, from earrings to shoes and her cheerful holiday jewelry. Marge and her late husband, Kenneth, retired to Florida in 1973. After that they divided their year between Florida and Keuka Lake. She was predeceased by her husband, Ken, on February 9, 1993 after 56 years of marriage, and her three sisters (Alice Wedgewood, Elizabeth Farr, and Edna Brooks). She is survived by her three daughters; Marilyn (Jack) Mullaney of Horseheads & Penn Yan, NY, Barbara Blodgett of Bradenton, Fl and Penn Yan, NY, and Peggy (Peter) Krause of Clearwater, Fl., grandchildren; Kim (Frank) Savino, Kenneth (Kim) Cundy, Kelly (Mark) Brinthaupt and seven very special great grandchildren, and 17 nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be provided by the family. Donations in Margery's memory may be made to Keuka Lake Baptist Church of Crosby, 734 E. Lake Rd, Penn Yan, NY 14527 or a charity of one's own choice.
Margery's family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of both Penn Yan Soldiers and Sailors Hospital and Schuyler Hospital for the love and compassion they exhibited during Mom's last days. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Saturday October 8, 2011 from 2 to 3 PM. Margery's Funeral Services will he conducted at the conclusion of calling hours. Mrs. Blodgett will be laid to rest next to her husband Ken in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads , NY.
