Obituary of Elizabeth Marie Strait

STRAIT , ELIZABETH MARIE Age 86 of Horseheads , NY passed away on Wednesday October 1 , 2014 at Elcor Nursing Home . Betty was born March 16 , 1928 in Elmira , NY the daughter of the late Alexander S. and Nina David Vitukevic . She married her husband Calvin J. Strait and he pre-deceased her on March 30 , 1970. Betty was also pre-deceased by her brother David Vitukevic on November 23 , 2006. Mrs. Strait was a long-time communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Elmira Heights , NY . She was a former employee of St. Joseph's Hospital and The Horseheads Central School District . Mrs. Strait is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law : Roxanne L. & Tarry Randall of Maine , NY and Rhonda & Gordon Standish of Reading Center , NY ; son : Joseph Strait and Becky L'Amoreaux of Corning , NY ; grandchildren : Thomas Strait , Dan & Terrah Strait , Alex Strait , Mike & Dena Standish , Wendy & Will Taylor , Jennifer Hartman , James & Melanie Randall , Jeffrey Randall , Brian Randall , Christopher & Nikki Randall , and Susan & Tony Scalia ; 25 great grandchildren . Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Sunday October 5 , 2014 from 2-5 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 6 , 2014 at St. Charles Borromeo Church 130 Oakwood Avenue Elmira Heights, NY at 10 AM by The Rev. Scott M. Kubinski . Mrs. Strait will be laid to rest next to her husband Calvin in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads , NY. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to a local Humane Society.
