Obituary of Geraldine N. Nasakaitis

NASAKAITIS , GERALDINE NARSH SAID Age 86 of Horseheads , NY passed away on Monday November 24 , 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Geraldine was born October 12 , 1928 in The Town of Catlin , NY the daughter of the late Clare and Jennie McDermott Narsh. She worked at Narsh's Country Store and later attended Jean Summer's School of Business . Geri married her first husband , Robert Said , in 1949 and he pre-deceased her on June 7 , 1976 . She worked at The Corning Fabric Store and Foodmart in Corning prior to working at Corning Glass retiring as an Accounting Clerk . In addition to her parents , Geri was also pre-deceased by her sister Jeanette DeSisto . She married her husband , Frank Nasakaitis , on October 9 , 1988 and they recently celebrated their 26th Wedding Anniversary. She loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. She was happiest in the kitchen or behind the sewing machine and she loved her VW Beetle. Geri and Frank travelled all over the world enjoying many countries and making many new friends . Geri is survived by her husband Frank ; daughters and sons-in-law : Jill & Les Lewis of Horseheads , NY and Gwen & Ron Moshier of Catlin , NY ; Frank's children : Frank W. & Rose Nasakaitis of Elmira Heights , NY, Patricia & Jon Breux of Elmira , NY , James & Emilia Nasakaitis of Herndon , VA , Mary & Paul Yoder of Horseheads , NY , John & Dawn Nasakaitis of Elmira , NY , Nancy & Chris Zizzi of Yorktowne , VA ; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren , brothers-in-law , sisters-in-law , nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Friday November 28 , 2014 from 6-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 29 , 2014 at 10 AM at St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 West Broad Street Horseheads , NY . Geri will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads , NY .
