Obituary of Barbara C. Roper

ROPER , BARBARA C. (HINDERLITER) Age 81 of Big Flats , NY formerly of DuBois , PA passed away on Wednesday April 22 , 2015 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center . Barbara was born February 24 , 1934 in DuBois , PA the daughter of the late Franklin and Mary Loretta McMahon Hinderliter . She married her husband Richard C. Roper on October 31 , 1959 and they would have celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary on October 31 , 2015 . In addition to her parents , Barbara was pre-deceased by her sister Margaret Harvey , sisters and brothers-in-law Joanne & Joseph Castliglione and Mary & William (Scotty) McManus , brother Edward Hinderliter , and brother-in-law Martin Lyle. Barbara loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them . Barbara is survived by her loving and devoted husband Richard C. Roper ; daughters and son-in-law : Karen Keenan & David Davie of Erin , NY and Kim & Christopher Dietterich of Big Flats , NY ; son and daughter-in-law Richard M. & Jinhee Roper of Alpine , NY ; grandson Kyle J. Gush & Jessica Markle ; four great granddaughters : Mallory , Bailey , Delilah , and Kylee Gush ; sisters: Claudia Lyle and Zita Hinderlither ; brother and sister-in-law Daniel & Carol Hinderliter ; brother-in-law George Harvey ; sister-in-law : Mitzi Hinderliter ; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Kaye & Jack Guthridge , Michael & Debra Roper , and Becky & Terry Parsons ; numerous nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on SUNDAY APRIL 26 , 2015 from 4-7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 27 , 2015 at 10 AM at St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 West Broad Street Horseheads , NY.
