Obituary of Maria Anna Vollmer

VOLLMER , MARIA A. Age 96 of Beaver Dams , NY formerly of Staten Island , NY passed away on Saturday May 30 , 2015 at The Corning Guthrie Hospital. Maria was born February 19 , 1919 in Brooklyn , NY the daughter of the late John Henry Pape and Frieda Schneff Pape . She married her husband William F. Vollmer and he pre-deceased her on January 27 , 1998. Maria was also pre-deceased by her sister Frieda Pape Masterson , her brother John T. Pape , her brothers-in-law Adolph E. Vollmer and Paul W. Vollmer , and many other relatives . Maria was a retired Dietary Supervisor at The United States Public Health Services Hospital in Staten Island , NY . She was a former member of The Pine Valley Senior Citizens Club and The Catlin Center 55 Plus Club . Mrs. Vollmer is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law : William P. Vollmer of Beaver Dams , NY , John A. Vollmer of Beaver Dams , NY , and Robert M. & Debra Vollmer of Chehalis , Washington ; four grandchildren ; several great grandchildren , nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Thursday June 4 , 2015 from 2-4 and 7-8 PM . Mrs. Vollmer's Funeral and Committal Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 PM. The Rev. Patrick Neyman will officiate. Maria will be laid to rest next to her husband William in Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira , NY. It was Maria's wish that she be remembered through memorial contributions to a charity of one's choice.
