Obituary of Lawrence Paul Owen

OWEN LAWRENCE PAUL Age 85 of Horseheads, NY went to be with The Lord on Wednesday March 6, 2013. Lawrence was born on July 2, 1927 in Hornell, NY the son of the late Lawrence and Mabel Hotchkiss Owen. Mr. Owen was a Veteran of WWII serving his country with The U.S. Army. Lawrence married his wife , June M. Stiles Owen , on June 4, 1949 and she pre-deceased him on August 15, 2012 after 63 years of marriage. Mr. Owen was also pre-deceased by his grandson David R. Atwood who passed away on March 9 , 2010 . Lawrence was a retired employee of Corning Inc. having worked at the Big Flats Plant . Mr. Owen was a member of The Central Assembly of God Church in Horseheads , NY. He loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them . He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Paul is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and Paul Montgomery of Odessa, NY; Bonnie and Charles Beeman of Tavares, FL; Cheryl and Mark Dieterle of Elmira, NY; Peggy and Ron Payne of Painted Post, NY; Connie and Mike Atwood of Montour Falls, NY; Judy and Sam Kemp of Horseheads, NY; son: Paul J. Owen of Horseheads, NY; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Ramona Crippen; brother-in-law: Leon Schoonover; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET, HORSEHEADS, NY on Sunday March 10 , 2013 from 2-4 PM. Mr. Owen's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 4 PM with the Rev. Mark Dieterle officiating. Mr. Owen's grandson Justin Atwood will assist Rev. Dieterle . Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Owen at 4 PM at the Funeral Home. Mr. Owen will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife June in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
