Obituary of Agnes J. Easton

EATON AGNES J. (STATES) "AGGIE" Age 77 of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday January 9, 2016. Agnes was born on September 1, 1938 in Montour Falls, NY the daughter of the late Warren A. and Dorothy Dunham States of Odessa . Agnes was a graduate of Odessa Central School in 1956. Aggie married her husband Ronald F. Eaton on May 4, 1957 and they would have celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary May 4, 2016. She started as a U.S. Postal Employee in 1957, and was Postmaster of the Breesport Post Office from 1979-1992. She was an active member and officer of NAPUS and NARFE. Aggie enjoyed traveling to state and national conventions and during her lifetime was able to travel to all 50 states, and multiple trips to Europe including Italy, Switzerland, Germany , and many more destinations . She loved attending live Broadway shows and concerts with family and friends. From 1992-2010 she spent winters in Ocala and Flagler Beach, Florida and Myrtle Beach, S.C. where she loved the beaches, sunsets, and being near the water watching the dolphins and whales. In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by her brother Warren States Jr. (Bud) of Virginia. Aggie loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Aggie is survived by her husband of 58 years Ronald F. Eaton, daughters: Sherry D. McMurray of Millport,NY; Patricia A. Eaton of Breesport, NY; and Lynn M. Eaton of Horseheads; grandchildren: Randy L. Fatula of Endicott, NY; Jolene E. Dieffenbach of Horseheads,NY; Andrea M. Dieffenbach of Endicott, NY; 3 great grandchildren; sister Jacque States Wickham; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Saturday January 16, 2016 from 1-3 PM. Mrs. Eaton's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 3PM with her childhood friend Rev. Jeannie Blyler Officiating. Aggie will be laid to rest in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Odessa, NY at the convenience of the family.
