Obituary of Robert N. Rolfe

ROLFE ROBERT N. Age 79 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Thursday January 21, 2016 at Bethany Manor after an extended illness. Bob was born January 10, 1937 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Richard and Agatha Nollett Rolfe. . Bob received his Bachelor's Degree from St. Bonaventure University in 1959. Mr. Rolfe was a Veteran serving his country with the U.S. Army from 1959-1963. Bob married his wife Kathryn J. Ryniker Rolfe on July 1, 1961. He was a retired journalist for the Corning Leader writing columns for many years and covered NASCAR at Watkins Glen. He also managed several bands in the 60's including Attila and The Huns. Robert was a Co-host for Voice of The People with Dr. Stephen Coleman at WENY. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. Robert is survived by his wife Kathryn "Kitty" Rolfe of Horseheads, NY; son and daughter-in-law: Robert "Rob" and Christene Rolfe of Oswego, NY; daughter and son-in-law: Rebecca and Jeff Forsyth of Elmira, NY; grandchildren: Thomas Rolfe, Ian Rolfe, Zakkariah Rolfe, Joshua DePrimo, and Jessecca Forsyth; half sister: Susan; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth and Joseph Clifford of Rochester, NY; Margaret Ryniker and Michael Hungerford of Syracuse, NY several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET ON Wednesday January 27, 2016 from 4-7 PM. Robert's Funeral Services will be held at the end of calling hours at 7PM with the Rev. Wanda Copeland Officiating. Inurnment in Woodlawn National Cemetery Elmira, NY on Thursday January 28, 2016 at 10 AM where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Rolfe.
