Charlotte Louiselle

Obituary of Charlotte Louise Louiselle

LOUISELLE , CHARLOTTE LOUISE DAVIS Passed away on Friday June 30 , 2017 with her loving husband Frank at her side. Charlotte Louise Davis Louiselle arrived into this world in Malden, Massachusetts, on April 23, 1930. "Springtime" remained her favorite season next to summer, all of her life. She was joyful, generous and filled with a nomadic heart and a vibrant sense of adventure. She was a self-professed "tomboy", long before the advancement of the women's liberation movement. She excelled in sports, including field hockey, and was an ace shot in rifle & bore competitions. She loved all animals, and believed in the "live & let live" motto. She was the irrefutable "Queen of aphorisms", quoting them whenever fitting. She had an undeniable spirit, and a zeal for life which was palpable. She was honest to a fault, and her moral compass always pointed true north. Her energy, strength and intelligence were unsurpassed. Her character and integrity were the cornerstones of her consternation. She spoke the true "King's English" like at genuine Bostonian, (much to the chagrin and amusement of family and friends). The beautiful "Boston Belle" met the handsome love of her life, Frank Howard Louiselle II, and they were joyfully married on June 15, 1952. They longed for a family, and added four wonderful children over the course of nine years. Charlotte devoted her life and energy to caring for her family. While her loving husband "Skip" was out on U.S. Navy Destroyers protecting our constitution and freedoms, Charlotte was the constant in their daily routine. Her children flourished under her nurturing guidance and care. She generously imparted her own life lessons, and believed a giving soul shares both life's burden and satisfaction in one selfless extension. It is the cement which binds both "minds and hearts" together. The single act is one of such great privilege. The fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves. We must look outward, to share life's weight and lighten the load. A philanthropic heart knows no bounds, and gives selflessly without constraint. She lived by this creed every day of her life. She had an inimitable and unwavering sense of virtue, fortitude, and character. On June 15, 2017, Frank and Charlotte celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. The two of them truly "lived" every day of their life on their own terms. They looked like film stars, and could have easily settled into that world and lifestyle. Yet, their commonality and humble aspirations led them down a more "normal" path. They finally found their dream home, and settled into the picturesque Village of Horseheads in the summer of 1969. This perfect haven provided an unequivocal playground for the entire family. They dressed to the nines once a week for a cozy steak dinner and some precious alone time together. They loved the stock car races, playing cards with close friends, riding motorcycles into the ever-changing landscape surrounding their home, and boating on Seneca lake in their beautifully restored Chris-Craft aptly named "CHARLOU". They enjoyed travel, and would take extended trips to visit their children in both Florida and California. They never took one moment of life for granted, and cherished every single breath. Even in the midst of her illness and deteriorating health, she never wanted to burden or worry family members with any "bad" news. She was selfless, altruistic, and always put herself last. Charlotte lived by rules and morays, all of them Golden. She was a woman of conviction, and loved her life, family and friends with a passion unrivaled by the masses. She wanted for nothing, and believed in the magic and joy of the simple "little" things. Wealth, is not merely measured in dollars. Her sense of humor and wickedly funny dry wit were unequaled. Her greatest achievement was in being a loving wife and mother. She loved seagulls, cardinals and elephants since childhood. She always took the time to "smell the flowers" over the course of her days on this planet. To stop, to look around, be present and take it all in while riding the carousel of life. She collected the brass rings right up until her last moment. Our memories of her will remain vivid testaments to her existence, and her laughter will resonate all the days of our lives. We will continue to feel her energy, and recall her bright smile and youthful heart with unending love. Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, George and Veda Clark Davis of Malden, Massachusetts. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years Frank Howard Louiselle II; her four beloved children, Mandy L. Louiselle of Horseheads, Lisa G. Louiselle Jehle (Greg) of California, Frank H. Louiselle III of Florida, Tracy L. Louiselle of California. She is further survived by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. We would like to give a special "thank you" to the dedicated Hospice care team for the incredible support they generously provided during her final days on this earth. You truly made all the "difference" for everyone involved. Most importantly, you permitted Charlotte to die much in the same manner she had lived her entire life, with a calm and gentle sense of dignity. For this alone, we are eternally grateful.
