Obituary of Anna Ivanick
IVANICK, ANNA KOCUR Aged 93, beloved wife of Joseph Ivanick, of Horseheads, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira, NY. She was born in Topilnytsia, Ukraine in 1924, a daughter of Anna (Mechalko) and Theodore Kocur. Anna married Joseph Ivanick in 1951 in Yonkers, NY, after coming to the United States. She loved singing in her church choir at SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic church in Spring Valley, NY, doing embroidery and spending time with her family. She is survived by son Dr. Mark (Jane) Ivanick of Elmira and daughters Diana (Dennis) Pletts of Salisbury, MD and Christine (Stewart Hockenberry) Ivanick of Wyncote, PA, and daughters-in-law Maura Ivanick of Jamesville, NY and Marcia Winward of Wyndmoor, PA. Also survived by brother Theodore Kocur of Rochester, NY and sisters Maria (Slavko) Kiciuk of Yonkers, NY and Sonia Thomas of Wallingford, CT. Also survived by twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons Daniel and Peter Ivanick, her parents and six siblings in Ukraine: Katrusia, Mykola, Maria, Basil, Michael, and Slavko. A memorial service will be held later this year.
