Obituary of Kay E. Staviski

KAY ELAINE AUMICK STAVISKI Age 84 of Horseheads , NY passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday December 13 , 2017 at Bethany Manor where she was well taken care of. Kay was born February 6 , 1933 in Elmira , NY the daughter of the late Merle and Charlotte Inscho Aumick. She married her husband Bing Staviski who pre-deceased her on January 8 , 2001. Kay is survived by her sister Pat Bradley and brother Mike Aumick and three sons Dave , Nick , and Steve. She is also survived by dozens of grandbabies , nieces , nephews , and cousins. The names of these loved ones passed her lips in prayer each night. Mom loved playing her organ and piano , and spreading her spirituality joy far and wide. One day during an afternoon visit , mom and I were amazed as she recalled a poem learned from her beloved school teacher mother 75 years before . It bubled from her; "the kiss of the sun for pardon, The song of the birds for mirth,One is nearer God's heart in a garden than anywhere on earth . For he broke it to us in a garden Under The olive-trees Where the angel of strength was the warden And the soul of the world found ease." The Family will receive friends on Wednesday December 20 , 2017 from 7-9 PM at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS ,NY . Kay's Funeral Services will follow calling hours at 9 PM with the Rev. Mary Anne Bernard officiating.
