Our condolences to Dianne, Chris, and Marshall. We first met Bob on the side lines of youth soccer games and I got to know him better while working with him at Corning Inc. His sense of humor and musical talent will live on for all that knew him. He kept us laughing at work and entertained us on the weekend. God bless you Bob, you will always be present in our memories.

Dear Dianne,
I was so sorry to hear, from my brother Luke, about your husband Bob's passing. I only met you and him, once or twice, a couple of summers ago when I and my family were visiting Luke and his girls. We were fortunate enough to hear him play with the band at Luke's house and realized what a professional musician he was, as well as you too being such truly nice people. I am glad that Luke met up with Bob and they got to play music together, I know Luke valued their friendship. I am sorry for your loss and know that your friends, family and community will help comfort you now, as well as a lot of good memories of you & Bob together. Take care and be good to yourself through this sad time.
From,
Lori Melendy, husband Tom and daughter Emma.

Dianne, Chris and Marshall,
I want to share what Amanda wrote about your beloved husband and father. He meant the world to her, and yes, he was always Uncle Bob.
Today is surreal. The world lost a great man. My dad lost his best friend. I lost an “uncle”. A man who drove my dad to the hospital when my mom went into early labor. A man who told the best jokes and could make you laugh until your sides hurt. A man who always told my dad not to be so hard on me. A brilliant chemist and guitar-player/musician. A man who raised the sweetest dogs. A man who made the best shrimp scampi and convinced me to eat shrimp with cocktail sauce. There wasn’t much he and my dad couldn’t fix or build... or any song they couldn’t learn perfectly... Or any “Amanda” song to embarrass me.
There are a couple families whose lives will never be the same.
Amanda Moore Owens
Keith and I are so grateful that music brought our families together. We have so many wonderful memories of the times we have spent together. The many trips to Big Lots, WalMart (Bob and Keith imitating the beep of the registers), going out on the boat with Southside Subs, family picnics, good times and bad times. Bob will live on forever in our hearts. We love you all as our family.
Love
Keith and Cathy

Dianne, Chris and Marshall,
Very sorry to hear of the passing of my good friend and musical sidekick, Bob Hall. Bob and I go back to where we actually shared a birth week, each being born at Arnot Ogden in late July, 1946. Fourteen years later, we met again during our years at the old EFA (class of 1964), where we engaged in the typical high school hi-jinks of the time, cutting classes, smoking cigarettes and listening to a new musical sensation "The Beatles".
From there, Bob volunteered for duty in Vietnam in a noble and heroic endeavor against the Viet Cong in a half baked war effort, the lingering scars of which would, unfortunately, persist.
From there, it was marriage, children, mortgages, day jobs and playing late nights at the local clubs. Live music was everywhere in those days and Bob honed his vocal and guitar skills, playing with many bands and varied genres, as did we all. In 1974/75, Bob brought his playing and arranging skills to bear in a band which was formed with four high school friends-"Imagination".
I have many great memories as the B-3 player in that band for several years including a brief period as a duo with Bob known as "Two's Company", ending in 1980.
"Imagination" was finished at this point, but the degree to which Bob was most instrumental in the local success and longevity of the band cannot be overstated...it simply wouldn't have happened without him.
At this point, it was back to school for Bob, where he excelled, tutoring his classmates and earning his degree in Chemistry. Bob was immediately hired by Corning Inc. culminating in a fulfilling career and well deserved retirement.
Thus, I offer a mere sampling of many memories and a friendship going back some fifty years.
A highly opinionated man, stubborn as a mule, with a most marvelous sense of humor, Bob put it all out there for all to see.
From his analytical mind, immersed daily in the industrial complexities of the periodic table, to his creative side with which he plied his artistic trade through a gold Les Paul, Bob hall was a remarkable man, too soon gone, indeed.
Rest in Peace, old friend, Jim Reese
