Obituary of Elizabeth M. Clark

Betty (Elizabeth) MacBlane Clark Went to be with the Lord at the age of 94 surrounded by loving family on Saturday February 24 , 2018. Survivors include her children, William (Julie) Clark; Beverly (Richard) Lorenzo; Janine (James) Stevens; Nancy (David) Burton; grandchildren, Michael Sullivan; Patrick (Brenda) Sullivan; Andrew (Lisa) Sullivan; William Sullivan and companion Marcia Morabito; Anne (Philip) Zschoche; Tina Clark; Veronica (Steven) Mize; Delbert J. Clark; Blair Lorenzo; Darcie Dunivan and companion John Stutzman; John (Catalina) Enright; Joshua (Angela) Enright; Elizabeth Enright; Rebecca Burton and companion Tyler Chambers; Laura Burton; Jessica Burton; sisters, Margaret (Thomas) Elliott and Loretta Lynch, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Delbert J. Clark; daughter, Judith A. Sullivan; great-grandson Joseph Dunivan; parents, James and Catherine (Pawlak) MacBlane; eight sisters and three brothers. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an excellent baker who always had cookies for the children. She loved flowers, especially roses. She was a 4-H club leader and enjoyed teaching cooking and sewing. She retired from the Horseheads School District, Food Service Department. She volunteered for many years at the information desk at St. Joseph's Hospital, learning how to use a computer. She loved the house on Breesport Road built specifically for her by her loving husband, Delbert. She enjoyed all the family holiday celebrations including the annual MacBlane Family Reunion which has been held since the 1930s. The friendships with her neighbors on Breesport Road, including Eleanor and Wendell Cleveland; Ralph and Marianne Knaflez, and Harold and Marie Schultz were some of her treasured memories. Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 1, 2018 from 5-8 PM at the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West Broad Street Horseheads, New York. On Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10 AM Betty's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church 130 Oakwood Avenue Elmira Heights , NY . The Celebrant of Betty's Funeral Mass will be Father Scott Kubinski. Betty will be interred following the mass beside her beloved husband, Delbert, at the Maple Grove Cemetery on Broad Street in Horseheads, NY. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Bethany for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Charities of Chemung and Schuyler Counties, 215 East Church Street, Elmira, NY 14901.
