Obituary of Gerald L. Madden

GERALD L. MADDEN Age 76 of Elmira , NY passed away on Thursday April 26,2018 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center . Jerry was born September 19,1941 in Elmira , NY the son of the late Edward and Elsie Larson Madden. He was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School . Jerry married at a very young age and was the father of his two children Edward and Mindy. Jerry was a very adventurous guy, which led him across the country , going out west and up north ending up in Buffalo, NY . There he earned a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and achieved his priesthood in Tae Kwon Do and opened his own Karate School named Omega Fitness Center. He then moved to Florida and opened a Telecommunications Call Center. Jerry did very well there and worked until his retirement. He stayed in Florida until his later years and then returned to Horseheads. Jerry was loved by many and will be missed by all. He was pre-deceased by his father and mother Edward and Elsie Larson Madden , his sister Patricia Maguire and his nephew Christopher Grebleski. Jerry is survived by his sister Shirley A. Rinker of Horseheads, NY ; nephews : David Rinker and James Maguire ; nieces: Mary Clare Lumm and Stacie Cook along with several friends .
