Obituary of Gerson L. Pfaff

GERSON L. "GARY" PFAFF Age 92 of Horseheaads, NY passed away on Friday June 29 , 2018 at Corning Guthrie Hospital. Gary was born January 4, 1926 in Williamsport, PA the son of the late Eugene M. and Babette E. Wunderlich Pfaff . Gary married his wife, Dorothy Gail Wiseman Pfaff , and she pre-deceased him on July 21 , 1998 . He was also pre-deceased by his son Eugene M. Pfaff on November 12 , 2017. Gary was a Veteran of WWII serving his country with the U.S. Army. Mr. Pfaff owned and operated E.M. Pfaff and Son in Horseheads, NY for several years. Gary is survived by his loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law Susan "Susie" and John Alexander of Elmira , NY ; grandsons : Justin and Beckie Pfaff of Horseheads , NY , Jason and Kristi Alexander and Derrick and Trish Alexander ; great granddaughters : Adreanna and Emmarie Alexander ; sister : Ann (Mrs. Joseph) Barcomb of Horseheads, NY ; several nieces , nephews , cousins , and friends and longtime companion Delores "Dee" Brown . Gary was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, and a longtime owner of E.M. Pfaff and Son where he worked successfully and grew an architectural millwork company, which is still operating strongly today with their work and quality craftsmanship shown throughout the community. He was a past member of the Lions Club, Fur, Fin and Feather, and the Watkins Glen Yacht Club. He was also a volunteer Fireman and past member of the Chemung County District Sewer Board. He took great pleasure in time spent on the family Yacht "Su Gene". Motoring back and forth to Seneca Lake and Florida and down the Mississippi River. He enjoyed traveling the United States including going to Alaska in his Motorhome with his wife Dorothy. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS , NY on Monday July 2 , 2018 from 4-7 PM . Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday July 3 , 2018 at St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY at 10 AM. Gary will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Dorothy and his son Gene in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Pfaff.
