Obituary of Roberta S. Campbell
ROBERTA S. "ROBIN" CAMPBELL Age 62 of Elmira, NY passed away on Sunday August 26, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Robin was born March 1, 1956 in New York City the daughter of the late Alfred G. and Delphine E. Drozewski Registro. She was a Graduate of Horseheads High School Class of 1973, and was Big Flats Queen of Community Days in 1976. She and Earl "Duke" Campbell met in 1979 and they married on July 26, 1986, and spent 39 years together. Robin was an employee of the Salient Management Company as an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist in Horseheads, NY, and her boss Guy Amisano gave her the title "Senior Vice President of Hospitality" because of her warmth and special talent of making everyone around her feel so warm and special. That talent of making everyone feel cared for was something that both Memorial Sloan Kettering and Robert Packer Hospital commented on because of how special her spirit was. At Robert Packer she was the "Talk" of the 5th floor for her kindness and influence on the staff in spite of what she was going through. The nurses would always say to everyone if you are having a bad day go to room 506 and spend time with Robin Campbell and your spirits will be lifted. She was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. She was so inspired by her father Al's legendary baseball career that it made her appreciate hard work and willingness to strive for the best. Robin loved her family, cherished her parents, and friends and her Labrador Retrievers especially her swimming partner Buddy and her new puppy Cooper. The most important thing to Robin was her husband and her undying love and devotion to him. She enjoyed her journey through life with Duke and making their home and lives filled with warmth and hospitality, and always looking out for others. Robin and Duke loved spending the wintertime enjoying their wood stove and being together and enjoying backyard barbeques and swimming with family and friends for get togethers in the summer. She and Duke created a balloon and entertainment business known as the Better Birthday Bureau where she enjoyed engaging with the children and handing out balloons and prizes for numerous birthday parties and other events. She loved animals, and tending to her bird sanctuary and her favorite television show was Animal Planet. She took great pride in her house and property and working in her flower beds. Robin is survived by her loving and devoted husband Earl "Duke" Campbell; sister and brother-in-law : Rosemary & Paul Sullivan of Elmira, NY; nephew Jason Benjamin of Horseheads, NY; nieces: Nicole and Owen Newkirk of McKinney, TX; Katrina and Ryan Marsh of Elmira Heights, NY; Brenda and Rick Smith of Elmira, NY; sister-in-law and brother-in-law : Norina & Earl Plate of Elmira, NY; aunt: Eleanor Sadler of Moorestown, NJ; Ken and Sue Sadler, of NJ; and many other cousins and nephews; Goddaughter Mallory Stanton and her fiancé Jim Nichols of Southbridge, MA, and a host of caring friends including her co-workers at Salient.
