I met Gene in the 1970’s when I worked at Marine Midland Bank and Gene was with GAB. I enjoyed Gene and his clam stories and after leaving the bank I called Gene to see if GAB had any openings because his work sounded so interesting. He introduced me to another adjusting firm in Elmira and ultimately I spent 40+ years in the claim business, all thanks to Gene leading me the way. One never forgets good people, like Gene. My Uncle Gene was bigger than life. He loved his family and was fiercely loyal to all of us. I have many wonderful memories of summers at the lake with Uncle Gene, Aunt Shelia, my parents, siblings, and super cousins. He was the best lifeguard ever. Letting us have fun but keeping a watchful eye out for all of us. He was a great cook and enjoyed having a good time with family and friends. He was dedicated to his family and worked hard to provide for them. Outings at Uncle Gene's and Aunt Shelia's were always fun times. I will remember my Uncle Gene always and think of him often. I miss you Uncle Gene. Say hi to Dad, Cathy, Shaun, and the rest. You're the best. I love you. Peggy

Our deepest sympathies go out to Mr. Brautigan's family. May the memories of the love and lots of laughter it sounds like you shared over the years continue to grow in your thoughts and hearts during this time. You never say goodbye to someone that you love, you just say hello to memories, a gift from God above. Our love to you all. Bryon and Laurie
