Obituary of Rachael M. Butler

Rachael M. Butler Age 89 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Thursday October 8, 2020. She was born on January 4, 1931 in Watkins Glen, NY the daughter of the late Frank and Felicia Ross DeSarno. Rachael was a 1950 graduate of Watkins Glen High School and graduated from RBI in 1951. After graduating Rachael worked as a Bank Teller in Rochester, NY and then became a Nannie for a private family in Brighton, NY. She worked for Dresser-Rand for a short period of time when she had her first 2 daughters and then became a stay at home mother. From 1981-1983 she Modeled for Rosenbaum's Department Store at the Arnot Mall and in 2001 she was a Model for Diamond GYM to encourage Seniors to exercise. Rachael was a big supporter of the SPCA. Mrs. Butler married her husband Robert Roy Butler on July 2, 1955 and he pre-deceased her on April 13, 2019. She was also pre-deceased by her siblings: William, Samuel, Dominic, Catherine, and her twin brother Frank "Junior" DeSarno. Rachael is survived by her children: Lynn Butler-Dube and Richard Dube of Huntington, VT; Rebecca and Mark Wood of Gillett, PA; Sherry and Gary Gorski of South Miami, FL; Eve Butler Charbonneau and John Charbonneau of Spring, TX; grandchildren: Maya Dube; Jade Wood Talmon and Ethan Wood; Zakary Gorski and Hunter Gorski; Carson Charbonneau; several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren: Lynnae Dube, Brian Dube, and Nicole Lewis; 4 step-great grandchildren; and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at St. Mary's of the Lake Church 905 N Decatur Street Watkins Glen, NY to attend calling hours on Friday June 25, 2021 from 10 AM-10:55 AM. A Mass of Christian Celebration will be held immediately following calling hours at 11 AM.
