Obituary of Sharyl H. Maphis

SHARYL H. MAPHIS Age 72 of Odessa, NY passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021. Sharyl was born June 12, 1948 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Gerald D. Hood, D.C. and Norma L. Stiles Hood. She was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School in Elmira Heights, NY. Sharyl married her husband Neil R. Maphis on September 28, 1985 and they would have celebrated their 36th Wedding Anniversary this year. Sharyl was an active member of The Odessa Baptist Church. She held several jobs including working with Coldspring Construction and the Office Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics working with her mother Norma. She loved her family and friends and cherished the times she spent with them. Sharyl is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 35 years Neil R. Maphis; sons and daughters-in-law: Christian and Stacia Maphis of Montour Falls, NY and Chad and Virginia Maphis of Elmira, NY; grandchildren: Aidan Maphis and Nadia Maphis of Montour Falls, NY, Kayleigh Maphis, Austin Maphis, Angelina Maphis, and Aleigha Maphis all of Elmira, NY; sisters: Suzanne Sindelar of Florida and Cindy Hood of Big Flats, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Saturday March 20, 2021 from 10 AM to 12 NOON. Sharyl's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of Calling Hours at 12 Noon. Sharyl will be laid to rest near her parents in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY.
