Obituary of Harold James Wonderling

Harold James Wonderling age 95 of Horseheads, Ny passed away on Monday August 9, 2021 at Elderwood Nursing Home in Waverly, NY. He was born March 21, 1926 in Claredon, PA the son of the late Ernest Roosevelt Wonderling and Alma Verona Hanenkrat Wonderling. Harold was a Veteran of World War II and Korea serving his country with The US NAVY. He was a manufacturing co-ordinator working as a combustion engineer for C.E. Air Pre-Heater in Wellsville, NY. Harold was a member of The First Baptist Church of Horseheads, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Clarence R. Oliver American Legion Post # 154 of Elmira Heights,NY , V.F.W. Post # 6083 in Elmira Heights, NY . He married his wife Carolyn Ann Caroway Wonderling on October 27, 2001. In addition to his parents, Harold was pre-deceased by his brothers Robert Wonderling and Vincent Wonderling as well as his son-in-law Charles M. "Charlie" Ross on August 6, 2021 and his sisters Arwilda Jones and Mary (Mrs. Robert) Karla. Harold is survived by his wife Carolyn A. Wonderling ; sons and daughter-in-law: Buzz K. & Josie Wonderling of Connersville, Indiana and James B. Wonderling of Dahlon , GA; step-daughters: Jennifer ( Mrs. Charles) Ross , Caryn Speeckaret, and Leslie Seeckaret both of Elmira, NY ; grandchildren: Stacey Wonderling (Mrs. Tavis) Ganoung , Sara Wonderling, Austin Ross, Miranda Ross and Evan Speeckaert ; great grandchildren Abel Ganoung and Haley Ganoung; brother and sister-in-law: William and Deanna Wonderling of Wellsvile, NY; sister: Patricia Slade of Andover, NY ; several nieces, nephews, cousins ,and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Thursday August 12,2021 from 2-4 PM. Harold's Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours with Full Military Honors accorded Mr. Wonderling. Harold will be laid to rest in Bath National Cemetery .
