Obituary of Thomas R. Jones

Thomas R. Jones age 81 of Erin, NY passed away on Saturday November 20, 2021 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Tom was born December 1, 1939 in the Town of Erin the son of the late Frank D. Jones and Irene M. Greene Jones. He was a Veteran of The U.S. Army serving his country during The Vietnam War. Tom married his wife, Linnell R. Masters Jones, on September 12, 1964, and they recently celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary. He was a retired machinist from Bendix-Purolator in Elmira Heights, NY . Tom was an avid hunter and loved fishing, shooting trap, and camping. He loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Tom is survived by his loving and devoted wife Linnell R. Jones; son: Christopher T. Jones of Horseheads, NY ; daughter and son-in-law: Tia and Michael Johnson of Severna Park, MD; grandchildren: Maile Johnson and Elle Johnson; several cousins and a multitude of friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Saturday November 27, 2021 from 2-4 PM. Full Military Honors will be accorded to Tom at 4 PM at the Funeral Home. Tom will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Food Bank of The Southern Tier 388 Upper Oakwood Avenue Elmira, NY 14903 will be gratefully acknowledged by Tom's Family.
