Obituary of James T. Marks

James T. Marks age 57 of Big Flats, NY passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday March 15, 2022. Jim was born April 7, 1964 in Olean , NY the son of the late Richard C. and Patricia O'Neill Marks. He was a member of The Ancient Order of Hiberians. Jim was an enthusiastic lover of nature, enjoyed hunting, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and loved playing Golf. He was a graduate of Horseheads High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from St. John Fisher College. Jim received his Master's Degree from Alfred University and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in School Administration from SUNY Brockport. He was a high school baseball coach and led Notre Dame High School in Elmira to the State Championship in 1997. Jim was a retired guidance counselor at the Addison School District. He loved his family and friends and treasure the time he spent with them. Jim is survived by his sons : Richard (Ashley) Marks and Patrick Marks (Miranda Keefe) ; granddaughter: Casey Marks and two grandchildren to be born later this year; sisters and brother: Patricia ( Mark) Stephan , Kathryn Schrock, and Kevin (Eileen) Marks; former wife Martha Danaher Marks ; several aunts , uncles, nieces , nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Family and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Monday March 21, 2022 form 4-7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 22, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY. Jim will be laid to rest in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery in Horseheads, NY. In lieu of flowers those wishing may remember Jim through memorials to The Alzheimer's Association or The American Cancer Society to honor family members who were afflicted these diseases.
