Obituary of James R. Cordier

James Richard Cordier Age 87 of Horseheads , NY passed away on Saturday April 16, 2022. Jim was born March 30, 1935 in Elmira , NY the son of the late Charles D. and Elizabeth J. Griffith Cordier. He graduated from Southside High School in Elmira, NY. Jim was a U.S. NAVY Veteran serving his country from 1955 – 1957. He married his wife Susan L. Costello Cordier in 1978. In addition to his parents, Jim was pre-deceased by his son Steven J. Cordier on May 18, 2003 and his brothers-in-law Richard P. Costello and Al Stawn. He was a retired supervisor at Hardinge Brothers Inc. in Elmira, NY. Jim was an avid golfer and a 40 year member of Corning Country Club and a lifetime member of The Horseheads Elks Lodge # 2297. Jim is survived by his wife Susan Costello Cordier ; daughter: Zoe Ann Sheahan and family of Lowman, NY ; sister: Geraldine Strawn in San Antonio, Texas ; several nieces, nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends. It was Jim's wish that there be no prior calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jim's Gravesite Services on Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery in Elmira, NY where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Cordier.
