Obituary of Gayle R. Carpenter

Gayle R. Carpenter age 67 of Elmira, NY passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday June 15, 2022. Gayle was born September 14, 1954 in Elmira , NY the daughter of the late Glenn and Rose Marie Adams Hurd. She was also pre-deceased by her husband Merle Carpenter and her grandson Antonio Powell. Gayle leaves behind her three daughters and a step-son Susan Lamb and John Coley, Cathie and Jim Hand , Anita Lamb , and Robert and Marjorie Carpenter; several grandchildren and great grandchildren : Johna and Jay'Ell , Johnathan , Alijah, Alonzo, Jaimie , Thomas , Matt and Jade , Nikki , Taylor , Brian , Martin , Lukas and Lily ; three sisters : Arlene and Jack Tobey , Doreene and Mike Johnson , Mona and Chris Phillip and Rick and Cheryl Hurd plus several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law , nieces , nephews , great nieces , great nephews , cousins , and many friends. Gayle was a CNA with The Arnot Ogden Medical Center . Her hobbies included sewing , knitting , and playing "Candy Crush" while people watching on her porch. She always helped out everyone in any way she could. A Big Thanks to her best friend Tori Salpsman for always being there. Gayle will be greatly missed !
