Obituary of Gary L. Erickson

Gary L. Erickson age 84 of Horseheads, NY passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday July 6, 2022. He was born January 29, 1938 in Elmira, NY the son of the late William and Margaret Van Demark Erickson. Gary was also pre-deceased by his brothers and sisters Robert W. Erickson, Ralph Erickson, Lawrence Erickson, Roland Erickson, J. Lorraine Donald, and Joan Platko. Gary was a retired car salesman at Elm Chevrolet in Elmira, NY. He was a Deacon and Treasurer of Faith Tabernacle Church in Horseheads, NY. Gary enjoyed boating on the Finger Lakes with his family, traveling and fishing. He loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Gary is survived by his loving and devoted wife Carolyn A. Kendall Erickson; sons and daughters-in-law: Kary and Karen Erickson of Chemung, NY and Mark and Sherri Erickson of Elmira Heights, NY; grandchildren: Jennifer Bennett, Jeff Erickson, Greg Erickson, Daniel Erickson, Andrew Erickson, and Joshua Erickson; great grandchildren: Bryce Bennett, Ethan Erickson, Gavin Erickson, Cameron Erickson, and Adalynn Erickson; brother and sister-in-law: William and Alice Erickson of Elmira, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Faith Tabernacle Church 155 Lenox Avenue Horseheads, NY on Monday July 11, 2022 from 1-3 PM. Gary's Funeral will be held at 3 PM with Pastor Dave Swartwood officiating. Interment in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats, NY.
