Obituary of Clara Mae Hulbert

Clara Mae Hulbert age 96 of Horseheads , NY passed away at home on Saturday August 20 , 2022 with her daughter Jeanie and her grandchildren Christian and Nick at her side. Clara was born August 30, 1925 in Westfield , PA the daughter of the late Lyman and Rose Gardner Mattison. She was one of 12 children. Clara married her husband Leonard Hulbert and he pre-deceased her on January 12 , 1984. She was also predeceased by 10 of her brothers and sisters . Clara loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Clara is survived by her daughter: Jeanie Adams ; grandchildren: Eric and his family of Rockford , Alabama , who was constant source of love and encouragement ; Christian and Nick at home , who were a constant source of help making it possible for Clara to live her life at home. Clara is also survived by her other grandchildren Chuck and Jessica. sisters; Kay Liles of Horseheads, NY and Lois Bates of Elmira, NY; several great grandchildren, nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends. Clara was an avid Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan. Clara loved her cats and putting puzzles together. Many thanks to Dr. Greenberg ; Clara loved him very much. Dr. Greenberg also loved Clara and was always kind and caring. His nurse Leah, always returned calls and was ready to help, and Carla from Triage was also part of the best support team ever. sisters; Kay Liles of Horseheads, NY and Lois Bates of Elmira, NY; several great grandchildren, nieces , nephews , cousins , and a host of caring friends. Calling hours will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-Day Saints 1060 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY on Friday August 26, 2022 beginning at 5 PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 6 PM. Clara will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Leonard in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY on Saturday August 27 , 2022 at 2 PM. Pallbearers will be Eric and David Adams . Christian and Nick Adams , Gary Adams , and New York State Trooper Jason Sheridan.
