Obituary of Collin Sylvester Campbell
Collin Sylvester Campbell age 80 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away peacefully at home on Sunday December 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 24, 1942 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Collin Levay Campbell and Mildred Marie Crance Campbell. He married his wife Mable May Thurber Campbell on November 21, 1964 . Collin served his country with The US ARMY during The VIETNAM WAR. He worked for Chemung County Buildings & Grounds for many years and finished his career as the caretaker for The Chemung County Fairgrounds. Collin was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Mable May Thurber Campbell , on August 27, 2015 . He was also pre-deceased by his brother Louis R. Campbell Sr. on August 2, 2000 , his sisters Phyllis J. Clearwater on July 19, 2019 and Mamie E. Wise on December 17, 2021 , and his brother-in-law Kenneth Dyer on April 9 , 2021. Collin loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Collin is survived by his children Brian Campbell and Penny Adams of Golden Glow , NY ; William Campbell with whom he resided , and Colleen and Scott Hetrick of Elmira Heights, NY ; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren ; sister: Bonnie (Mrs. Kenneth) Dyer of Elmira , NY; brother-in-law: James Clearwater of Erin , NY ; several nieces , nephews, cousins , and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Collin's Gravesite Service at Woodlawn National Cemetery 1625 Davis Street Elmira , NY on Friday January 13, 2023 at 2 PM where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Campbell. He and his beloved wife Mable will be laid to rest together in Woodlawn National Cemetery. Words of Condolence and Memories may be shared at www.lynchsfuneralhome.com .
