Obituary of Kenneth A. McKee

Kenneth A. McKee Commander US NAVY RETIRED age 80 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Friday April 21, 2023 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born January 28, 1943 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Kenneth Collins McKee and Lucy Veronica Dabbieri McKee. Ken graduated from Sayre High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Syracuse University and his Master's Degree in Professional Studies from Alfred University. He married his wife, Linnie Belle Kennon McKee, on October 14, 1967 and they would have celebrated their 56 th Wedding Anniversary this October. Ken was a Vietnam Veteran serving his country with The US NAVY and continued serving his country with The US NAVY Reserve for over twenty years retiring with the rank of Commander. He worked for The Corning Painted Post School District as Director of School Facilities and Operations . One of his greatest joys was his 1956 Austin Healey 300 M and the Vintage auto events he participated with his wife and her 1959 Triumph TR3A, his daughter and her 1967 MGB Roadster and the Twin Tiers Sports Car family for 26 years. He is survived by his wife Linnie ; his children : Lisa Burdick and her husband Jeremy Wilson Burdick of Beaver Dams, NY and Brian Anthony McKee and his wife Nitza Michele McKee of Red Lion, PA ; his grandchildren : Elena and Grayden McKee of Red Lion, PA ; sister: Marcianne Smith of Rochester, NY ; several nieces, nephews, cousins , and a host of caring friends. It was Mr. McKee's wish that there be no prior calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Gravesite Services on Thursday April 27, 2023 in Maple Grove Cemetery 715 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY at 11 AM where Full Military Honors will be accorded Commander McKee.
