Obituary of Robert Malnoske
Robert "Bob" Malnoske Age 68 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday June 27, 2023. Bob was born on September 6, 1954 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Thomas Charles "Whitey" and Harriet Strange Malnoske. Bob owned and operated the Horseheads Beverage Center in Horseheads, NY until his retirement. He married his loving wife Sandra J. Schrage on November 4, 1978 and they would have celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary this year. He and Sandra ran the business as a family with each of his sons working alongside them at different times throughout the years. He was a kindhearted, gentle soul, making everyone around him feel like family. His sons were the apple of his eye. He was so incredibly proud of their accomplishments and was always there showing his support whether it was rooting for them at sports events or celebrating milestones in their lives and careers. One of his greatest joys was being able to spend time with his grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest, making every minute count and cherished every memory made with his family. Bob loved the outdoors, going deer hunting and fishing. His love of sports was undeniable. An avid NY Giants and Penn State Football Fan, with his Number 1 favorite football team being the Horseheads Blue Raiders. Along with his parents, he was also pre-deceased by his brothers and sister-in-law: Thomas C. Malnoske Jr. and Harry and Marge Cannavino; brothers-in-law: Bob Edger, Thomas Richard Schrage and his sister-in-law: Nancy Schrage. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Sandra Malnoske; sons and daughters-in-law: John and Nikkie Malnoske of Horseheads, NY; Mike Malnoske and Ellen Reed, (and son Declan) of Horseheads, NY; Andy and Dr. Michelle Malnoske of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Griffin Malnoske, Leonardo Malnoske, and Estelle Malnoske; brothers and sisters-in-law: Michael and Margaret Malnoske of Anchorage, AK; Rodney and Roberta Malnoske of Odessa, NY; sisters and brothers-in-law: Delcine and Jim Chimileski of Elmira, NY; Karen Wray of Jackson, PA; Mary Edger of Elmira, NY; Cathy and Donnie Gaylord of Big Flats, NY; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Michael Schrage of Elmira, NY; Barbara Schrage of Webster, NY; Patricia and Richard Telech of Land O' Lakes, FL; several nieces, nephews, close family friend Robert Hopkins, and a host of caring friends. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the special care given to Bob by the Wilmot Cancer Center, and a special thank you to the ICU staff at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center for their care and support. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Sunday July 2, 2023 from 12-2 PM and 5-7 PM. There will be a Time of Remembrance Funeral Service held on Monday July 3, 2023 at 10 AM at the Funeral Home to share memories of Bob. Bob will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY immediately following where Committal Services will take place.
