Obituary of John Charles Cook

John Charles Cook age 77 of Elmira, NY passed away on Saturday July 29, 2023 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born March 4, 1946 in Elmira, NY the son of the late John H. Cook Jr. and Kathryn Coveney Cook. John was the president of John H. Cook Jr. Painting Inc. in Elmira, NY for many years. He was a member of Fur, Fin, and Feather and Trout Unlimited . John loved to be outdoors hunting or fishing and took several trips to Alaska and Canada. John was pre-deceased by his wife Linnette T. Morrow Cook on July 29, 2002. He loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them as well as his many customers who he treated like family . John is survived by his sons and their families Timothy J. Cook of Elmira, NY and daughter Jasmine , Scott M. and P. Christine Cook of Elmira , NY and their sons Connor John Cook & Jackie Pelino and Benjamin Scott Cook & Aisha Berraho, John Michael and Lori Cook of Elmira, NY and their daughter Kendal Lyn and their son Jackson Cook ; sister Mimi (Mrs. Ron) Simpson of Elmira, NY; brother and sister-in-law: Jeremiah "Mugga" and Sandy Cook of Horseheads, NY ; several nieces, nephews, cousins , and extended family members and his loving companion Debbie Maurey and his beloved guard dog Yogi. There will be no prior calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday August 5, 2023 at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick's Church 604 Park Place and West Clinton Street in Elmira, NY. John Charles will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Linnette in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery in Elmira , NY .
