Obituary of Alberta M. Smith

Alberta M. "Bea" Smith age 99 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Friday September 22, 2023 at Bethany Manor in Horseheads after a period of declining health. She was born July 18, 1924 the daughter of the late Elmer and Nora Kennedy of Wellsboro, PA. Bea was married on October 18, 1942 to Edwin E. Smith . He preceded her in death in 2010 after 67 years of marriage and was also pre-deceased by her daughter Linda Taylor and great grandson Felix Brow-Westbrook. She is survived by daughter Garnette (Ben) Westbrook of Nashua, NH and son Jaymie Smith of New York, sister Linda Schimizzi of Plattsburgh, NY and grandchildren Jeffrey Westbrook (Kristin) of Astoria, NY, Justin Smith (Wendy) of Seneca, S.C. , Todd Schanbacher (Terri) of Jamesville, NY, Aaron Schanbacher (Tami) of Clay, NY , Renee Schanbacher (Chuck Phillips) of Kirkville, NY and 5 great grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews who were always there to lend a hand. Alberta's Family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Manor for the care she received and also Appleridge Senior Living for providing a wonderful place to live. Mrs. Smith will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Edwin in Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY in the Columbarium Wall .
