Obituary of Marolyn L. Hackett

Marolyn L. Hackett  Age 83 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Monday August 5, 2024.  She was born on September 8, 1940 in Wellsboro, PA the daughter of the late Emery and Marion Jones Mudge.  She graduated from Mansfield High School in 1958 and also attended the Williamsport School of Commerce and graduated in 1959. She was a legal secretary for many years in Elmira and Corning. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Horseheads, NY for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir there. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, and the Eastern Star of Mansfield, PA.  Mrs. Hackett married her loving husband Charles H. Hackett on June 4, 1960 and he pr-deceased her on January 11, 2018 after over 57 years of marriage.  She was also pre-deceased by her grandson Gregory D. Turner on January 8, 2018; and many siblings. Marolyn is survived by her loving children: Cheryl Hackett of Horseheads, NY; Brian & Susan Hackett of Gilbertsville, PA; Leanne Hackett and Carl White of Horseheads, NY; and Kristen Turner of Elmira, NY; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.  She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads next to her beloved husband Charlie.
